Shamzeer at Dubai Expo

Dubai: Thousands of people are visiting the mega event Dubai Expo 2020 every day. Many people visit each pavilion multiple times. However, Shamzeer Mattanoor, a native of Kannur’s Keechiri is becoming an eye-catcher at Dubai Expo with his pursuit of souvenir collection during the pavilion visits.

He has pasted stamps of each country on his attire including kandora, cap and mask after visiting each pavilion nearly six times.

Notably, Dubai Expo organizers have issued yellow passports for the visitors as a souvenir. The individuals visiting the Expo can get it sealed with a stamp from each pavilion. Interestingly, Shamzeer has extended the ‘scope of getting sealed’.

He has taken the seal on his white kandora, his umbrella, footwear, mask, cap and shemagh apart from the stamps of pavilions from 192 countries.

Seeing his enthusiasm, organizers from various pavilions have offered him gifts. Even the co-visitors across the globe find him interesting and befriended him.

Shamzeer has been an expat for 11 years. He is working as a sales coordinator in Oman for a Dubai headquartered company. For him, Expo is not just a global event and it has become an important chapter in life.
