Thrissur: The tusks of the dead elephant Thiruvambadi Sivasundar has been brought to Thrissur. Thiruvambadi Devaswom Secretary Prof. M. Madhavankutty informed that the procedures to receive the tusks is under progress.
The 5 ½ feet long tusks, which are currently under the possession of Social Forestry Department, are kept in the treasury in Thrissur. Thiruvambadi Devaswom need to submit the documents to prove their ownership of the elephant inorder to get the tusks back.
The forest department officials had received the tusks from Kodanad, where the post-mortem of the elephant was performed. The post-mortem took place on Sunday. The tusks were taken to Thrissur on the same day and entrusted in the treasury on Monday.
