Thoppumpady: The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) will soon implement a novel project called ‘Urjadyut’ which aims to keep consumers informed about power outages.
Once the project is introduced, the consumers will get to know when the electricity supply will resume, through their mobile phones.
The consumer has to register his or her mobile number with the electricity office for availing the service. The consumer can also register his/her name and mobile number online through the KSEB’s website.
The consumer will receive information specific to their sections including glitches in 11 kV lines and transformers.
Apart from this, the Board will implement ‘Urja Souhrid’ project to disseminate information regarding the electricity bill such the bill amount and payment due date. A reminder will be sent one day before the last due date.
There is also a facility to register complaints through WhatsApp. A centralised toll-free customer care facility has been set up at Thiruvananthapuram power station.
