The Supreme Court had ordered to award Rs 50 lakh compensation Nambi Narayanan for being subjected to harassment in ISRO espionage case. It had said that Nambi Narayanan was unnecessarily arrested, harassed and subjected to mental cruelty in ISRO spy case.
Nambi Narayanan was arrested in connection with the espionage case on November 30, 1994. But the court accepted the CBI report that the case charged against him was false. The CBI also had recommended action against the accused officers.
