Evidence collection today in Amboori case; Akhil accepts murdering Rakhi

Thiruvananthapuram: With all the three accused in the Amboori murder case landing in police net, more revelations have come out. It is learnt that the main accused Akhil did not join duty after flying down to the military camp in Ladakh. He had left the place immediately after killing his lover Rakhi Mol. Akhil did not join the camp but was staying in Delhi.

Meanwhile, Akhil decided to go underground after coming to know that police are in the look out for him. Akhil called up home and asked for Rs 10 lakhs and police came to know about this which proved crucial in nabbing him.

When police came to know that Akhil would reach the Thiruvananthapuram airport, the whole airport was kept under surveillance. Akhil boarded the Indigo flight from Delhi on Saturday night and police in mufti nabbed him at the airport.

Akhil who is in police custody will be interrogated further and was taken to the Neyyatinkara DySP office today. The main accused Akhil, second accused and his brother Rahul and friend Adarsh were all interrogated together late night. In the preliminary investigation, Akhil had accepted to committing the murder. They will be brought to the under-construction house on Sunday for evidence collection.

Police had zeroed in on Akhil after examining the phone call records of Rakhi. Both were in love for over 6 years and in February they had exchanged garlands at a temple in Ernakulam. After this, Akhil decided to marry another girl and the engagement too was held. Coming to know about this, Rakhi created a ruckus and this resulted in Akhil finishing off Rakhi Mol.
