Thiruvananthapuram: Police claim that Rajendran, who allegedly murdered Vineetha, an employee in the nursery in Ambalamukku, is a dreaded criminal. Rajesh alias Rajendran is a history-sheeter and is also accused of the 2014 murder of a customs officer and his wife in Tamil Nadu. He escaped to Kerala before the trial of the case began. He is on the criminal list of Tamil Nadu.

He reached Thiruvananthapuram a month ago and was working in a hotel. On Sunday, February 6, due to lockdown, he had no work. While roaming around in the city, he show Vineetha’s shop and entered there with the intention of stealing. He tried to snatch Vineetha's golden chain but she resisted. He then stabbed her with the knife he had with him. Police claim that he always carried a knife with him.

The shadow police were also investigating, focusing on the CCTV footage. The police caught the accused after searching various camps of the guest workers.
