Kochi: The police here have recorded the confidential statement of the woman complainant in the sexual assault case against film director Balachandra Kumar, who has been in the limelight for his 'revelations' against actor Dileep.
The woman, a native of Kannur, along with her lawyer, reached the Elamakkara station in Kochi by 11:30 AM. She was produced before Ernakulam First Class Magistrate and later her medical examination was conducted. Following that, her statements were taken confidentially.
According to the complaint, the director, in 2010, invited her to a lyricist's house in Ernakulam’s Puthukkalavattom, offering a job and sexually assaulted her. Kumar also threatened the woman with captured visuals of the act when she informed about her plan to complain about the matter to the police, it said.
The woman reportedly said that she has not seen the director thereafter, and was able to recognize him due to recent media reports.
