Thiruvananthapuram: In a major twist to the murder of a woman in Peroorkada, police obtained the CCTV visuals of the suspect in the case. Police have issued a sketch of the suspect.
Nedumangad native Vineetha was found stabbed to death in a nursery at Ambalamukku on Saturday. People had spotted her outside the shop till 11 am. The body with injuries on the neck was found by noon.
The CCTV visuals reveal a person entering the shop by 11 am and returning after spending 20 minutes inside it. The footage shows that his hand was injured while coming out of the shop and this may help in identifying the accused. No one had entered the shop after this person until the body was found, informed police.
Vineetha’s family complained that her gold chain of four and a half sovereigns was missing. However, a Rs 25,000 that was available in her bag was untouched.
A customer who reached the nursery had found Vineetha missing in the shop. Soon the person called the owner and informed him that the saleswoman was missing. As Vineetha was not picking up the phone calls of the owner, he sent another staff to look for her. Vineetha’s body was found lying in the nursery.
