People always want a change in the regular food items they have. This time, let's see how the popular snack Punugulu from Andhra Pradesh is made. The best combination for punugulu is a spicy tomato chutney.

Ingredients:

Dosa/idli batter - 2 cups
Rice flour - 1 tablespoon
All purpose flour - 1 tablespoon
Baking soda - 1/4 teaspoon
Finely chopped onion - 1 cup
Green chilli - 2
Curry leaves - 2 stalks
Salt - to taste
Oil - to fry

Preparation:

Mix dosa/idli batter, rice flour, all purpose flour, chopped onion and green chilli, curry leaves, baking soda and salt. Stir this mixture well and set aside for 15 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan. Take the mixture in a spoon and pour to the oil slowly. Fry the snack till it turns into golden colour. Punugulu goes well with coconut chutney or tomato chutney.
