Ingredients



  • Bengal gram - a cup
  • Green chillies - six
  • Cabbage - one cup (finely chopped)
  • Carrot - 1/2 cup (slightly chopped)
  • Onion - 1/4 cup ((finely chopped)
  • Coriander - 1/4 cup (slightly chopped)
  • Gram flour - 1/4 cup
  • Salt - as needed
  • Oil - 3 cups
Procedure

Soak Bengal gram in water. Grind the soaked Bengal gram and set aside half a cup of it. Then add the remaining gram and green chillies into a mixer and grind. Transfer the batter to a bowl, add the remaining ingredients including the half a cup Bengal gram taken before and mix well.

Roll it into 20 small balls and press it into the shape of vada. Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan. Fry it until both sides turn light brown. Serve hot with chilli chutney.
