Halwas are quite common in the market. Colourful and variety stretchy halwa always attract food lovers. Here is one such item which can be easily made at home.

Ingredients

  • Bread - 10 slices
  • Sugar - ¾ cup
  • Water - ½ cup
  • Cardamom powder - ½ tsp
  • Ghee or oil - to toast the bread
Preparation

Take a pan and add oil/ghee. Toast both sides of the bread until it is brown. Now, boil water and sugar together. Cut the toasted bread into pieces and add it into the sugar syrup. Mix it well with a spoon.

When the water dries out and the oil separates from the water, add cardamom powder. Now, shift this mix into an oil applied bowl. Cut it after it is cooled. Cashew and raisins can be used to garnish.
