A tasty twist to 'Parippu Vada'; try Green Peas Vada this time

One of the most popular snacks in Kerala is 'Parippu Vada' or lentil fritters. Giving a twist to the snack, let's try a green peas fritter which replaces the split Bengal gram with green peas.

Ingredients:



Green peas - 1 cup
Onion - 1
Potato - 1 large
Chopped ginger garlic - 3 tablespoons
Green chilli - 4
Dried chilli - 6
Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Lemon juice - of half a lemon
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Baking soda - 1/4 teaspoon
Oil - accordingly

Preparation:

Soak green peas for 8 hours. Then rinse it well and drain the water completely. Cook potato separately and mash it well.

Grind all ingredients other than potato without adding water. Do not make it a smooth paste. Let it remain in a coarse texture. Now add baking soda and potato in the mixture and blend them thoroughly.

Form the mixture in thin round shape. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the fritters in medium or low flame for about 1 minute. Serve them hot with tea.
