R Bindu
Thiruvananthapuram: Minister for Higher Education R Bindu here on Friday criticised senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala while reacting to the Lok Ayukta order that gave e a clean chit to her from the accusations of illegal involvement in Kannur Vice-Chancellor reappointment.
Taking a dig at Chennithala, Bindhu said that he may be dismayed by losing the post of Leader of Opposition.
She criticised the opposition and media for 'attacking' her on the matter.
"It is uncalled for a leader like Chennithala to act without studying the matter properly. Let me do my job. Positive changes in the higher education sector are important for the future of the state. I request everyone's cooperation. Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan is highly cooperative," she added.
Chennithala must engage in positive actions rather than triggering controversies, she pointed out.
The minister added that she does not intend to create a clash with the Governor.
Earlier on Friday, the Lok Ayukta had ruled that the minister did not do anything wrong in 'proposing' to the reappointment of Dr Gopinath Ravindran as the Kannur varsity VC.
